São Paulo. A leading analyst firm has raised its corn production forecast for Brazil for the 2025-26 season. Notably, Brazil—located in Latin America—is the world's second-largest exporter and third-largest producer of corn.

In its latest monthly report, the analyst firm projected that corn production during the current marketing season is likely to rise to a record high of 137 million tonnes—an increase of 1.3 million tonnes over the 135.7 million tonnes estimated in its April report.

It is worth noting that corn cultivation in Brazil takes place across three distinct seasons. Under this system, the crop from the first (or "full") season has already been harvested, while the crop from the second (or "Safrinha") season remains in the fields; the harvest for the latter is scheduled for June and July. Production during the third season is relatively limited.

The analyst firm has raised its production estimate for the first-season corn by 4 percent, setting it at 28.3 million tonnes, while maintaining its production forecast for Safrinha corn at 106.1 million tonnes. In Brazil, over 70 percent of total corn production occurs during the Safrinha season, whereas the first season accounts for 22–23 percent and the specialized third season accounts for 2 percent of production.
