Government Directs Importers to Sell Refined Sugar Within 2 Months
★ In a minor change to the notification issued on August 20, DGFT stated that the 1 million tonnes of sugar to be imported under TRQ will be released into the domestic market as soon as possible.
★ According to the new circular, any raw sugar imported must be processed and converted into refined sugar and brought to the market within 2 months of the Bill of Entry.
★ Continuous notifications and circulars from the government are creating an atmosphere of panic in the market.
★ Raids have been conducted at warehouses in several states, particularly Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
