According to Monday’s Crop Progress report, 78% of the US corn crop had reached the silking stage by 26 July, which is 4 percentage points ahead of the five-year average. Around 25% of the crop has entered the dough stage. The US corn crop condition rating declined by 4 percentage points to 63% in the good-to-excellent category, while the Brugler500 index fell by 11 points to 361.

According to the USDA’s FGIS report, US corn export shipments for the week ending 23 July totalled 1.488 million tonnes (58.58 million bushels). This was 7.74% lower than the previous week and 2.88% below the same period last year. Mexico was the largest destination with 454,201 tonnes, followed by Japan with 252,204 tonnes and Colombia with 236,112 tonnes. Total corn exports for the 2025/26 marketing year have reached 75.324 million tonnes (2.965 billion bushels), up 24.81% from the same period last year.

According to the NOAA seven-day precipitation forecast, much of Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio is expected to receive 1 to 2 inches of rainfall over the coming week. Eastern South Dakota and southern Minnesota are also forecast to receive 1 to 2 inches of rain.

According to AgRural, Brazil’s second corn crop in the central-southern region is 60% harvested, lagging behind last year’s average pace of 68%.
