According to the weekly NASS Crop Progress report, 81% of the US winter wheat crop had been harvested by Sunday, 2 percentage points ahead of the normal pace. Meanwhile, 92% of the spring wheat crop had headed, which is 1 percentage point behind the five-year average, while 2% of the crop has been harvested. Spring wheat condition ratings remained steady at 53% in the good-to-excellent category, while the Brugler500 index declined by another 3 points to 342.

According to Monday morning’s Export Inspections report, US wheat export shipments for the week ending 23 July totalled 394,785 tonnes (14.51 million bushels). This was 71.82% higher than the previous week and 36.01% above the same week last year. Bangladesh was the largest destination with 58,341 tonnes, followed by Japan with 56,444 tonnes and Mexico with 54,407 tonnes. Total wheat exports for the current marketing year have reached 2.543 million tonnes (93.4 million bushels), which is 23.21% lower than the same period last year.
