Basmati rice exporters in India are proceeding cautiously after the agreement between India and the UK
★ Before this deal, the UK imposed a duty of £21 on brown basmati rice and £120 on white basmati rice.
★ European Union countries import around 5 million tons of basmati rice from India, with half of that going to the UK.
★ Due to this agreement, importers may reduce their rice imports from Pakistan.
