Tuvar prices continue to rise as demand remains strong
The weekly review of Tuvar prices reflects continued price increases driven by strong demand from stockists and dal millers across various regions in India.
Key highlights include:
African Tuvar saw a significant jump of Rs. 500-700 per quintal due to weak availability at Mumbai Port and sustained demand, reaching:
- Mozambique White: Rs. 7600-7700
- Gajari: Rs. 7500
- Malawi: Rs. 7150-7200
- Dodomo: Rs. 6900-7000
Chennai Tuvar Lemon prices also rose by Rs. 250, reaching Rs. 7050-7100 per quintal.
Burma Tuvar prices increased by $30 per ton to $820, driven by sluggish export demand but still a price improvement.
Delhi saw a rise in both Lemon and Desi Tuvar prices by Rs. 125 and Rs. 100 per quintal, respectively, reaching:
- Lemon: Rs. 7500-7525
- Desi: Rs. 7700-7850
Maharashtra witnessed a general rise in prices of Rs. 100-200 per quintal across various cities:
- Solapur: Rs. 6500-7550
- Akola: Rs. 7700-7900
- Nagpur: Rs. 7650-7700
- Latur: Rs. 7600-7800
- Dudhni: Rs. 7000-7650
Karnataka saw price increases of Rs. 100-200 per quintal, with prices in key markets:
- Gulbarga: Rs. 7000-8081
- Raichur: Rs. 6831-7711
- Yadgir: Rs. 6737-7719
- Talikot: Rs. 6700-7659
Madhya Pradesh experienced similar rises in Tuvar prices, with increases of Rs. 100-200 per quintal, with the following market prices:
- Katni: Rs. 7400-7600
- Jabalpur: Rs. 5000-7400
- Pipariya: Rs. 6500-7700
In Raipur and Kanpur, prices rose by Rs. 250-300 per quintal, reaching:
- Raipur: Rs. 7800-8100
- Kanpur: Rs. 6800-7000
Tuvar Dal also saw a price rise, with an increase of Rs. 150-300 per quintal across various markets:
- Delhi Fatka: Rs. 11500-12150
- Katni Fatka: Rs. 10950-11450
- Akola: Rs. 11100-12300
- Latur Fatka: Rs. 11500-11700
- Gulbarga Fatka: Rs. 10900-11700
- Kanpur Fatka: Rs. 11200-11600
