Slight Decrease in Pulse Stocks at Gujarat Ports

Ahmedabad. Yellow peas, red lentils, and desi chickpeas are regularly imported from abroad at the ports of the western state of Gujarat, maintaining a good stock of these pulses.
However, pulse stocks fluctuate depending on the arrival of new shipments and the departure of previously imported goods. Compared to February 3, a slight decrease in pulse stocks was observed at Mundra, Kandla, and Hazira ports on February 10, 2025.
According to data compiled by IGrain India, the total stock of these three pulses at these ports was 739,915 tons on February 3, which fell by approximately 35,000 tons to 704,702 tons on February 10.
Under this, the stock of yellow peas decreased from 3,10,281 tonnes to 2,92,938 tonnes, the stock of red lentils decreased from 80,339 tonnes to 71,036 tonnes and the stock of gram decreased from 3,49,195 tonnes to 3,40,728 tonnes.
During the period under review, the stock of pulses at Mundra port decreased from 2,72,853 tonnes to 2,60,872 tonnes. Under this, the stock of yellow peas decreased from 87,464 tonnes to 76,935 tonnes, the stock of red lentils decreased from 25,817 tonnes to 19,772 tonnes but the stock of Desi gram improved from 1,59,572 tonnes to 164,165 tonnes.
There is good import of gram from Australia. At Kandla Port, the total stock of pulses declined from 341,704 tonnes on February 3rd to 321,897 tonnes on February 10th.
Yellow peas fell from 102,927 tonnes to 98,945 tonnes, red lentils from 49,154 tonnes to 46,389 tonnes, and chickpeas from 189,624 tonnes to 176,563 tonnes. Pulses are being cleared from the port.
At Hazira Port, yellow peas fell from 119,890 tonnes to 117,058 tonnes, and red lentils from 5367 tonnes to 4875 tonnes, bringing the total pulse stock down from 125,258 tonnes to 121,933 tonnes.
