Sesame crop market scenario: Record production for three years, price pressure continues
★ Sesame cultivation in India has been witnessing record production for the past three years, but the downside of this abundance is being felt in the form of reduced prices, impacting farmers directly.

Despite winning Korean tender, no price rally in market:
★ Recently, India secured a sesame export tender from South Korea — a significant milestone that raised hopes among exporters for a price recovery. However, massive domestic production and old stockpiles have capped any potential price surge.
★ Going forward, farmer sentiment regarding kharif sowing will depend largely on price trends. Weather and monsoon patterns will also play a crucial role.
