Second Advance Estimates of Area and Production of Horticulture Crops for 2024-25

The Agriculture Minister released the second advance estimates for the area and production of horticulture crops for the year 2024-25. According to the report, the total area under horticulture crops has increased by 1.81 lakh hectares compared to last year, reaching 292.67 lakh hectares.

The total production of horticulture crops is estimated at a record 3677.24 lakh tonnes, marking a growth of 3.66 percent. This is 129.80 lakh tonnes more than the production in 2023-24.

Spices:

The total production of spices in 2024-25 is estimated to be around 123.70 lakh tonnes, slightly lower than 124.84 lakh tonnes in 2023-24.

Ginger:

Estimated production in 2024-25 is 25.42 lakh tonnes, up from 23.33 lakh tonnes in 2023-24.

Garlic:

Estimated production in 2024-25 is 35.03 lakh tonnes, compared to 33.16 lakh tonnes in 2023-24.

Turmeric:

Estimated production in 2024-25 is 12.04 lakh tonnes, higher than 10.63 lakh tonnes in 2023-24.
