Pulses Market Sees Mild Firmness; Yellow Pea Weakens – Weekly Report (Till 27 March 2026)
★ The domestic pulses market showed a mixed trend during the week, with firmness in tur and lentils, while yellow pea remained under pressure. Kabuli chana witnessed sharp gains, whereas chana continued to trade below MSP levels.
Tur (Pigeon Pea): Improves, Trades Around MSP
★ Tur prices recorded a rise of ₹50–₹100 per quintal during the week, supported by better demand in key markets such as Solapur, Akola, and Mumbai.
★ Currently, prices are ruling between ₹7,925 and ₹8,200 per quintal, hovering around or slightly above the MSP of ₹8,000. However, on a monthly basis, the market still carries a pressure of ₹50–₹400 decline.
★ Meanwhile, imported tur from Myanmar has declined to $845 per tonne, which may exert pressure on domestic prices.

Urad: Mixed Trend with Selective Gains
★ The urad market showed a mixed trend this week. Prices increased by ₹50–₹100 in markets like Akola and Mumbai, while Chennai witnessed slight weakness.
★ Prices are currently ranging between ₹7,200 and ₹8,800 per quintal, remaining above the MSP of ₹7,800. On a monthly basis, the market has shown improvement of ₹85–₹265, keeping sentiment positive.
★ However, declining import prices from Myanmar (FAQ at $850 and SQ at $945 per tonne) may cap further upside.

★ Chana prices showed marginal improvement during the week but continue to trade below the MSP of ₹5,875.

★ Support from government procurement is expected to provide some stability.
