Kharif 2025: Cotton Sowing Picks Up Pace, Area Reaches 31.25 Lakh Hectares
★ Cotton sowing in the Kharif 2025 season has gained good momentum. So far, 31.25 lakh hectares have been sown, which is 2.14 lakh hectares more than last year’s 29.12 lakh hectares.
★ While the current sown area is still well below the normal average of 129.5 lakh hectares (based on 2019–20 to 2023–24), the initial trend appears positive.
★ Overall, cotton sowing in Kharif 2025 has made a strong start, and if the monsoon remains favourable, this pace is expected to pick up further in the coming weeks.
