Monsoon in Telangana
★ Between June 1 and June 23, 2025, the monsoon has remained weak across most parts of Telangana, with the majority of districts receiving below-normal rainfall.
★ Southern districts such as Nalgonda (-53%), Ranga Reddy (-39%), Yadadri (-54%), Suryapet (-83%), and Nagarkurnool (-83%) have recorded significant rainfall deficits.
★ Central and western districts like Warangal Rural (-75%), Warangal Urban (-78%), Jangaon (-74%), Rajanna Sircilla (-65%), Sangareddy (-65%), and Mahabubnagar (-65%) have also experienced severe rainfall shortages.
★ Northern and eastern districts, including Nirmal (-59%), Mancherial (-59%), Jagtial (-32%), Jayashankar Bhupalpally (-67%), and Bhadradri Kothagudem (-46%), have similarly faced poor monsoon performance.
★ Some districts have shown relatively better conditions, such as Mahabubnagar (+28%), Wanaparthy (+1%), Nagarkurnool (0%), rural parts of Jagtial (-13%), and Nizamabad (-15%).
★ Only a few districts, like Adilabad (-16%) and Kamareddy (-17%), have received near-normal rainfall.
★ Overall, the slow onset of the monsoon in Telangana has affected the pace of Kharif sowing, and significant rainfall is urgently needed to support agricultural activities.
