According to the 7-day weather forecast from NOAA, most parts of the Southern Plains are expected to remain relatively dry. However, some areas in the Soft Red Winter (SRW) wheat-growing regions may receive 1 to 3 inches of rainfall.
As per the Commitment of Traders report released on Friday, speculative funds reduced their net short position in Chicago wheat by 4,987 contracts, bringing the total net short position down to 77,412 contracts as of March 11. Meanwhile, managed money in KC wheat added 9,440 contracts to their net short position, increasing it to 48,722 contracts as of Tuesday.
FranceAgriMer has rated 74% of France’s soft wheat crop in “good/excellent” condition, unchanged from the previous week.
