Tuvar Prices Drop Below MSP
- Due to strong domestic production and continued duty-free imports, wholesale prices of Tuvar (Arhar) have fallen below the MSP of ₹7550 per quintal.
- Current Market Prices: ₹4950 – ₹7600 per quintal in key producing states.
Government Procurement Under PSS Ramps Up
- Procurement started in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Telangana.
- Till March 11, 2025: 1.31 lakh tonnes of Tuvar purchased, benefiting 89,219 farmers.
