New Delhi. The South-West monsoon, which reached the coastal areas of the far southern state of Kerala on May 30, has so far covered many states of the country.

This includes all the states of South India, states of the eastern and northeastern region and states like Maharashtra.

Good rainfall in these states is helping a lot in sowing of Kharif crops. Farmers from states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are getting help in early sowing of Kharif crops.

One end of the monsoon is active in the eastern and northeastern region, due to which farmers have become busy in transplanting paddy due to heavy rainfall in many parts of states like Orissa,

Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar and Bengal. It is known that this entire area is famous for the production of paddy and rice. There is a danger of severe floods due to torrential rains in some other states of Northeast India including Assam.

Meanwhile, heavy rains on 27-28 June in Delhi NCR and some parts of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana will help farmers prepare their fields for sowing crops.

The Meteorological Department has predicted that the rain will continue in this region till 2 July. There are indications of an increase in the area of ​​pigeon pea and moong in Karnataka and Maharashtra.

Similarly, the area of ​​soybean in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra and groundnut in Gujarat and Rajasthan is expected to increase, but there is uncertainty over the area of ​​cotton.
