Tuvar prices fall due to sluggish demand

Mumbai. Tuvar prices have declined during the current week due to weak buying at higher prices. Demand for Tuvar dal has stopped at higher prices due to which dal millers are buying Tuvar in limited quantity. Due to which pressure is being seen on Tuvar prices. Tuvar sowing has been going on at a fast pace due to timely monsoon rains. According to government data, till June 28, Tuvar was sown in 13.02 lakh hectares which is 12 lakh hectares more than the same period last year. Due to continued selling by importers and sluggish demand, Chennai Tuvar Lemon registered a decline of Rs 50 per quintal this week and with this decline, the price of lemon remained at Rs 11250/11300 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Mumbai African Tuvar also fell by Rs. 50 per quintal this week and the price remained at Mozambique White Rs. 11400, Gajari Rs. 11300, Malawi Rs. 11000 and Sudan New Rs. 11850 per quintal at the weekend.

Burma
Due to weak export demand, no increase or decrease was seen in Burma Tuvar this week and with this increase and decrease, the price remained stable at $1435 per ton at the weekend.

Delhi
Due to the impact of the fall in port demand, Delhi Tuvar Lemon saw a fall of Rs. 100 and Desi Tuvar also saw a fall of Rs. 100 per quintal during the current week and with this fall, the price remained at Lemon Rs. 11750, Maharashtra Line Rs. 12000 and Karnataka Line Rs. 12200 per quintal at the weekend.

Maharashtra
Due to sluggish demand for Tuvar dal, the buying of Tuvar by dal millers remains calm. Due to which, a decline of Rs. 100/150 per quintal was registered in the prices of Maharashtra Tuvar this week and the prices at the weekend remained at Solapur Rs. 10700/12300, Akola Rs. 12100/12350, Nagpur Rs. 12300/12500, Latur Rs. 11700/11900, Hinganghat Rs. 11500/12300 and Ahmednagar Rs. 11400/11600 per quintal. Karnataka
Due to sluggish demand from dal millers, Karnataka tuvar prices have fallen by Rs. 100 per quintal during the current week and with this fall, the prices at the weekend remained at Gulbarga Rs. 11600/12116, Raichur Rs. 9919/11916, Yadgir Rs. 11502/11809 and Talikota Rs. 11500/11650 per quintal.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to sluggish demand, Madhya Pradesh tuvar prices have fallen by Rs. 100 per quintal during the current week and with this fall, the prices at the weekend remained at Katni Rs. 12400/12500, Jabalpur Rs. 9000/10600, Pipariya Rs. 9000/11200 and Kareli Rs. 8500/11000 per quintal.
Others
Due to the impact of all-round decline and weak buying, Kanpur Tuvar witnessed a decline of Rs. 100 per quintal and with this decline, the price remained at Rs. 10800 per quintal at the end of the week. Similarly, Raipur Tuvar prices registered a decline of Rs. 100 per quintal during the current week and with this decline, the price remained at Rs. 12200/12500 per quintal at the end of the week.
Tuvar Dal
Due to the fall in Tuvar prices and muted buying, Tuvar Dal prices fell by Rs. 100/150 per quintal during the current week and with this rise, the prices at the weekend stood at Delhi Fatka Rs. 16900/17400, Katni Fatka Rs. 16200/16400, Akola Rs. 16300/17500, Latur Fatka Rs. 17300/17500, Gulbarga Fatka Rs. 16500/17100 and Kanpur Fatka Rs. 16800/17200 per quintal.
