Brazil: Soybean Production Estimate Lowered
Brazil’s soybean production estimate has been reduced by 1.0 million tonnes to 178.0 million tonnes (1,780 lakh tonnes).
Rainfall has been favorable across northern and central Brazil, but moisture deficits remain a concern in southern regions—especially in Rio Grande do Sul. At the same time, excessive rainfall in central areas has raised concerns about potential quality issues.
According to AgRural, soybean harvest progress has reached 30%, compared to 39% at the same time last year. Delayed planting and wet weather have slowed fieldwork, making this the slowest harvest pace since the 2020/21 season.
If dryness intensifies in southern Brazil, the production estimate could be lowered further.
