2024–25 Final Agri Output Estimates Out

New Delhi. The Union Agriculture Ministry has released the fourth and final estimates of major crops for the entire 2024-25 marketing season (Kharif + Rabi). This also includes production data for summer (Zaid) crops.
According to the latest data from the Ministry of Agriculture, during the 2024-25 marketing season, the country produced 185.92 lakh tonnes of nutritious grains and 639.21 lakh tonnes of coarse grains, including 1501.85 lakh tonnes of rice, 1179.45 lakh tonnes of wheat,
434.08 lakh tonnes of maize, 19.19 lakh tonnes of barley, 49.54 lakh tonnes of sorghum, 112.05 lakh tonnes of millet, 19.77 lakh tonnes of ragi, and 4.56 lakh tonnes of small millets.
Thus, the gross production of rice, wheat and coarse grains jumped to an all-time high of 3320.50 lakh tonnes.
As far as pulses crops are concerned, their total production is estimated to be 256.83 lakh tonnes, which includes 36.24 lakh tonnes of tur, 111.14 lakh tonnes of gram, 22.42 lakh tonnes of urad,
42.44 lakh tonnes of green gram, 16.54 lakh tonnes of lentils and 28.04 lakh tonnes of other pulses. India also produces moth, peas, horse gram, khesari, kidney beans and cowpea etc.
The production of oilseed crops is expected to increase to 429.87 lakh tonnes. Under this, production of 119.42 lakh tonnes of groundnut,
17.86 lakh tonnes of castor, 8.93 lakh tonnes of sesame, 40 thousand tonnes of niger seed, 152.68 lakh tonnes of soybean, 2.36 lakh tonnes of sunflower, 126.67 lakh tonnes of mustard, 1.12 lakh tonnes of linseed and 43 thousand tonnes of safflower has been estimated.
Apart from this, in the category of cash or industrial crops, production of sugarcane has been estimated to be 4546.11 lakh tonnes and production of cotton has been estimated to be 297.24 lakh bales (each bale weighing 170 kg). Record production of rice and wheat has been estimated.
