New Delhi. Currently, the prices of raisins are rising to new heights every day and during the last one week, prices have risen by 90/100 rupees per kg. It is noteworthy that I Grain India, while giving information to its readers from time to time, had suggested that there is no slowdown in the prices of raisins and raisins will make a new record price. Currently, the price of raisins in Sangli and Tasgaon Mandi is being quoted at 410/430 rupees. Which is the highest price in the history so far.

Informed sources say that due to the decrease in production for the second year also, it was already believed that there will be no slowdown in the prices of raisins this year. Currently, speculation is going on in full swing in the market. Due to which the prices are increasing day by day. Spot trade is low at high prices. Sources believe that the prices of raisins may increase further in the upcoming consumption season. Some traders believe that in the coming days, the price of raisins can touch the level of Rs 500 because 50 percent of the total production has arrived in the markets and the remaining goods are in strong hands and the arrival of new goods will be in February-March.

Incomings increased

Due to the constantly increasing prices, the arrival in the markets has started increasing. At the beginning of the current month, the arrival of raisins in Sangli and Tasgaon Mandi was 35/40 motors, which has currently increased to 75/80 motors.

Profit booking selling

Sources believe that due to the price increasing significantly, there may be profit booking selling in the market. Due to which the prices may fall by 20/30 rupees for a short period. But after that the prices will start rising again. According to an estimate, during the month of June last year, the price of raisins in the markets for the producing centers was 160/180 rupees per kg, which is currently being quoted at 410/430 rupees.

Low production

There is news of low raisin production in the country for the second year as well. Raisins are mainly produced in Maharashtra. According to the information received, the production of raisins in the country in the year 2023 was 22/24 thousand carts, which decreased to 18/20 thousand carts in the year 2024 and 14/16 thousand carts in the year 2025. Apart from this, the outstanding stock was also less. In the year 2024, at the time of new crop, the outstanding stock of raisins was 2.5/3 thousand carts, which was considered to be 500/600 carts in the year 2025.

Price

Looking at the current situation, much slowdown in prices is not possible. If there is profit booking or selling, prices may fall by 20/30 rupees, which will be for a short period. After that the prices will start rising again. Because 9/8 months are left for the new crop to arrive. Also, the stock is also less. Currently, the price of raisins in Delhi market is being quoted at Rs 350/450 per kg according to the quality.

Export

Due to high prices during the current season, the export of raisins is likely to decrease during the year 2025-26.
