USDA’s Export Sales report showed old crop wheat sales at 78,772 metric tons for the week ending April 30. This was the second-lowest total of the marketing year. Vietnam purchased 67,400 metric tons, including 66,000 metric tons switched from unknown destinations. Thailand bought 53,700 metric tons, while Mexico purchased 40,000 metric tons. New crop sales totaled 187,538 metric tons, the fourth-largest weekly total for the marketing year. Of this, 100,000 metric tons were sold to unknown buyers and 61,000 metric tons to Thailand.
Algeria purchased an estimated 390,000 to 420,000 metric tons of wheat in a tender held on Wednesday. IKAR estimated Russian wheat exports for 2025/26 at 44.5 million metric tons, down 1.5 million metric tons from its previous estimate. According to FranceAgriMer, France’s soft wheat crop was rated 80% good/excellent, down 1 percentage point from the previous week, while durum wheat fell to 71%.
