The weekly NASS Crop Progress report showed that 86% of the U.S. spring wheat crop had been harvested by Sunday, 3 percentage points ahead of the normal pace. Meanwhile, winter wheat planting was 3 percentage points behind the five-year average, with only 2% completed.

USDA is expected to leave U.S. wheat production estimates unchanged in this month’s WASDE report as it waits for the Small Grains Summary on September 30. However, USDA will have an opportunity to update the rest of the balance sheet. Traders are expecting few changes, with a Bloomberg survey showing an average estimate of 718 million bushels, just 1 million bushels above the August estimate.

South Korean importers purchased 100,000 metric tons of wheat, including 50,000 metric tons from the U.S. and 50,000 metric tons from Canada.

Sovecon estimates Russia’s 2026/27 wheat exports at 41.4 million metric tons, down 3.2 million metric tons from last month’s estimate.

According to Stats Canada, Canadian wheat stocks as of July 31 totaled 6.649 million metric tons, up 56.8% from last year. Wheat excluding durum stood at 5.547 million metric tons, up 48.8% from last year.

The Rosario Grains Exchange estimates Argentina’s 2026/27 wheat crop at 21 million metric tons, up 0.5 million metric tons from the previous estimate.
