ICE cotton futures posted gains of 5 to 109 points across most contracts on Wednesd Crude oil prices rose by $3.64 per barrel during the session, while the U.S. Dollar Index was mostly steady on the day.
Weekly Crop Progress data showed cotton condition ratings at 34% good to excellent, down 5 percentage points from the previous week. The Brugler500 index fell another 6 points to 298. Texas ratings declined another 8 points to 252 on the Brugler500 index.
The Seam reported sales of 632 bales in Tuesday’s sale at an average price of 76.26 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index was unchanged again on September 8 at 96.00 cents per pound.
ICE certified cotton stocks were unchanged on September 8, with certified stocks at 54,414 bales. The Adjusted World Price was raised by another 240 points on Thursday to 73.92 cents per pound.
