Tur prices continue to decline due to sluggish demand
Mumbai. The tur (pigeon pea) market continued to decline during the current week. However, some improvement was observed towards the end of the week. Heavy rains have been lashing major turvar (pigeon pea) producing regions of Karnataka and Maharashtra for the past two days, causing waterlogging in fields, which is likely to cause serious damage to the turvar crop. This potential damage to the crop has led to a slowdown in selling by stockists in the market. This lull in selling prices stabilized, and turvar prices recorded a slight increase over the weekend.
