Soybean Prices Improve on Increased Mill Buying
New Delhi: During the week of April 5–11, soybean prices saw an uptick of Rs 100–200 per quintal, supported by increased buying from processing units and sluggish arrivals in key producing states like Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Karnataka.
Maharashtra:
In Hingoli, soybean prices reached Rs 4850/quintal, nearing the MSP of Rs 4892. In Latur, prices stayed above Rs 4800, while other centers reported prices between Rs 4500–4600/quintal.
Arrivals:
According to SOPA, total arrivals during October 2024–March 2025 stood at 72 lakh tonnes, down by 5 lakh tonnes compared to the same period last year.
Soya Refined Oil:
Soya oil prices rose by Rs 10–15 per 10 kg due to costlier soybeans and lower imports of palm and sunflower oil in March. Price increased by Rs 20 in Kota and Rs 25 in Kandla, but softened by Rs 30 in Mumbai.
Market Arrivals (Bags of 100 kg):
April 7: 1.20 lakh bags
April 8: 1.40 lakh bags
April 11: 1.55 lakh bags
Soya DOC (De-oiled Cake):
The export trend was stable, and domestic demand remained steady. Prices showed a mixed trend, ranging from a Rs 1500/tonne rise to a Rs 1700/tonne drop, with mill delivery prices between Rs 29,000–35,000/tonne.
Brazil has completed most of its soybean harvest, while Argentina has just begun harvesting.
