Moong prices fall due to weak buying

New Delhi. Due to adequate availability of moong in the producing markets and weak demand at the consumer level, the prices of moong witnessed a decline during the current week. Due to less than expected demand for moong dal, the buying by millers has also remained limited, which has put pressure on prices. However, the future direction of prices will also depend on the sowing conditions of Kharif season and the weather. Due to increased selling pressure and weak buying by dal millers, the prices of Delhi moong declined by Rs 100 per quintal during the current week and with this decline, the prices became Madhya Pradesh line Rs 7200/7300 and Uttar Pradesh line Rs 7200/7500 per quintal.
Rajasthan
Due to increase in selling and weak buying, the price of moong in Rajasthan markets witnessed a decline of Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and at the weekend the prices remained at Jodhpur Rs. 6100/7050, Jaipur Rs. 6750/7200, Nagaur Rs. 6300/6800, Merta Rs. 6500/7000 and Kishangarh Rs. 5000/6500 per quintal.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to increased pressure of arrival of new summer moong in producer markets this week and sluggish demand, prices of Madhya Pradesh moong witnessed a fall of Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and the prices remained at Pipariya Rs. 5500/7350, Indore Rs. 6500/7200, Jabalpur Rs. 5000/7200, Harda Rs. 6000/7700 and Khirkiya Rs. 7000/7500 per quintal at the weekend.
Maharashtra
Due to sluggish buying, prices of Maharashtra moong witnessed a sharp fall of Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and at the weekend, prices of Latur remained at Rs. 6000/7500, Akola Rs. 6250/8750, Barshi Rs. 5500/6200, Ahmednagar Rs. 5600/7100 and Khamgaon Rs. 5500/6300 per quintal.
Others
Due to lack of demand, prices of Uttar Pradesh moong witnessed a fall of Rs. 200/250 per quintal during the current week and with this fall, prices of Lalitpur remained at Rs. 6500/6900, Konch Rs. 6100/6690 and Jalaun Rs. 6550/6800 per quintal during the weekend.
Moong Dal
Due to sluggish demand, prices of moong dal declined by Rs. 100 per quintal during the last week and the prices at the weekend remained at Delhi Rs. 8900/11800, Jodhpur Rs. 8750/9450, Jaipur Rs. 8200/8800, Bhatapara Rs. 9200/9700, Jalgaon Rs. 9200/9600 and Indore Rs. 8700/9800 per quintal.
