According to the NASS Fats & Oils report, 214.2 million bushels of soybeans were crushed in the U.S. during February. This was 12.99% higher than last year but 6.04% lower compared to January. The daily average crush was 7.65 million bushels, marking an all-time record.
Total soybean crush in the first six months of the marketing year has now reached 1.334 billion bushels, which is 8.28% (about 102 million bushels) higher than the same period last year. USDA is forecasting a 130 million bushel increase in crush compared to last year for the full marketing year.
Thursday’s Export Sales report is expected to show old crop soybean sales between 300,000 and 700,000 tons. New crop sales are projected between 0 and 50,000 tons. Soybean meal sales are estimated in the range of 200,000 to 500,000 tons, while soybean oil sales are expected between 0 and 12,000 tons.
