The White House stated that President Donald Trump is scheduled to travel to China on May 14–15 for a rescheduled meeting with China’s President Xi Jinping. Press Secretary Leavitt also said that the US is expected to host President Xi in Washington, DC later this year. The potential talks are considered important for US–China agricultural trade, particularly soybean trade.
The EPA is expected to release the Renewable Volume Obligation (RVO) numbers for this year later this week. Some analysts believe the announcement could come before President Trump’s meeting with biofuel producers on Friday.
The Export Sales report to be released Thursday is expected to show soybean sales for the 2025/26 crop in the range of 200,000 to 500,000 MT, while new crop sales are projected between 0 and 100,000 MT. Soybean meal sales are estimated between 150,000 and 400,000 MT, while soybean oil is expected to show net reductions of 20,000 to 24,000 MT.
