Rainfall during the first few days of July is expected to remain limited across parts of Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa, southern Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the northern Eastern Corn Belt. NOAA forecasts 1 to 3 inches of rain across much of the Eastern Corn Belt, while the CPC’s 8–14 day outlook points to warmer-than-normal temperatures and below-normal rainfall.
For the week ending June 18, USDA reported old-crop soybean export sales of 455,405 metric tons. This was the highest weekly total in 12 weeks and 13.02% above the same week last year. Unknown destinations were the largest buyer with 263,100 metric tons, followed by Algeria with 89,000 metric tons.
New-crop soybean sales totaled 902,159 metric tons, the highest weekly volume of the current marketing year and well above the same week last year. Unknown destinations purchased 529,000 metric tons, while China bought 200,000 metric tons.
Soybean meal sales totaled 182,260 metric tons, falling short of market expectations of 200,000 to 500,000 metric tons. Soybean oil sales were reported at 852 metric tons, within the expected range.
The International Grains Council left its 2026/27 global soybean production forecast unchanged at 442 million metric tons, with ending stocks maintained at 76 million metric tons. However, 2025/26 soybean stocks were revised upward by 1 million metric tons to 79 million metric tons.
