Return of Old Export Taxes Likely in Argentina – Effective from July 1, 2025
The Argentine government may reintroduce its earlier export tax structure starting July 1, 2025.
According to sources, export duties on the soy complex could return to previous higher levels:
Soybean export tax may rise from the current 26% back to 33%.
Export duties on soybean oil and soybean meal may increase from 24.5% to 31%.
If implemented, this move is expected to primarily impact Argentina’s domestic markets. The effect on FOB prices may be limited due to the relatively small difference between the old and current tax rates.
