News Capsule: Saskatchewan Planting Near Completion Despite Rain Delays
★ Frequent rainfall and excess soil moisture slowed fieldwork in Saskatchewan, Canada, during the past week. According to the provincial agriculture department, seeding of all crops has reached 97% completion, up from 93% a week earlier, but remains slightly below the five- and ten-year average of 99%.
★ The west-central and southwest regions are the most advanced at 99% seeded, followed by the southeast and northern regions at 98%. The east-central region is lagging behind but has improved to 90% completion.
