News Capsule: Record Australian Pulse Production: ABARES
★ According to the final crop report by ABARES, Australia’s pulse production has reached a record level in 2025–26.
★ Total pulse production is estimated at 6.582 million metric tons (65.82 lakh tons).
★ Last season’s production stood at 5.287 million metric tons (52.87 lakh tons).
★ The recent five-year average (2020–2024) was 4.175 million metric tons (41.75 lakh tons).
★ Favorable weather conditions and expanded acreage have pushed pulse output to a historic high, increasing the likelihood of higher global market supplies.
