News Capsule: Punjab Government to Include Sugar, Pulses and Oil in Atta-Dal Scheme
★ The Punjab government has decided to expand its Atta-Dal scheme by including additional essential commodities.
★ Around 4 million families registered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) will receive 2 kg sugar, 2 kg chana dal, 1 litre mustard oil, 1 kg salt, and 200 grams turmeric. The distribution is set to begin in April 2026.
★ The proposal will be placed for approval in the Cabinet meeting scheduled for February 23.
