News Capsule: Brazil’s Sugar Exports Surge 44%
★ Brazil’s sugar exports recorded a 44% increase in the early days of February. In the first 10 business days of February 2026, the average daily export volume stood at 131,384 tonnes, compared to 91,257 tonnes per day in February 2025.
★ During this period, total exports of sugar and molasses reached 1.313 million tonnes. However, the average export price declined by 22.6%, falling from $477.8 per tonne to $370.1 per tonne.
★ Despite lower prices, higher shipment volumes pushed up daily export earnings by 11.5% to $48.62 million. Total export revenue in the first 10 business days of February 2026 stood at $486.23 million.
