News Capsule: Myanmar – Pulse exports decline; drop seen in Urad and Tur: OATA
Urad
★ Exports in March 2026 declined to 53,962 MT, compared to 89,563 MT in March 2025. This marks a drop of about 35,601 MT, or nearly 40%.
★ During January to March 2026, total urad exports stood at 136,635 MT, which is about 33,194 MT (around 19.5%) lower than 169,829 MT in the same period last year.

Tur (Pigeon Pea)
★ A decline was also observed in March. Exports in March 2026 were at 27,269 MT, compared to 41,410 MT in March 2025, down by 14,140 MT or about 34%.
★ However, the decline in January–March data remained limited. Exports during this period were 44,430 MT, compared to 47,016 MT last year, lower by about 2,586 MT or around 5.5%.

Impact on India
★ The sharp decline in urad exports may support bullish sentiment in the market, while the limited decline in tur is expected to provide mild support.
★ Production of both crops has also declined this year. The urad and tur crops in Myanmar have already arrived, while African tur supplies are expected only after August.
★ This may provide support to prices.
