Lucknow: In Uttar Pradesh, the process for procuring pulses—such as Arhar (Tur), Gram, and Masoor—and oilseeds, such as Mustard, from farmers at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) declared by the Central Government has commenced and will continue until June 30.

According to the State Agriculture Minister, procurement targets for this year in Uttar Pradesh have been set at 6.77 lakh tonnes of Masoor, 5.30 lakh tonnes of Mustard, 2.24 lakh tonnes of Gram, and 1.14 lakh tonnes of Tur at the MSP; this initiative is expected to provide significant relief to the farmers.

It is noteworthy that the Central Government has fixed the MSP for the 2025-26 season at ₹5,875 per quintal for Gram, ₹6,200 for Mustard, ₹7,000 for Masoor, and ₹8,000 per quintal for Tur.

The procurement of pulses and oilseeds will be carried out by two central agencies and four state-level agencies. To facilitate this, procurement centers have been established across all major producing districts of the state.

Robust arrangements have been put in place to ensure that the procurement process remains completely transparent, thereby ensuring that no farmer faces any difficulty in selling their produce. Payments for the pulses and oilseeds procured from farmers will be disbursed within a stipulated timeframe.
