Mustard Rally Faces Pause, Markets Decline Yesterday
★ Over the past fortnight, mustard prices had been witnessing a continuous upward trend. Markets also opened firm yesterday, but higher prices began to affect demand. By evening, buyers had disappeared from several markets.
★ Mustard prices declined in Jaipur, Agra Saloni, and other mandis as well.
★ Mustard arrivals were recorded at around 1.1 million bags at present. It was expected that arrivals would have reached their peak by now, but recent weather changes have affected arrivals. Production also appears lower than earlier estimates, and the crop is arriving in the markets gradually at a slower pace.
★ Weather conditions were favorable in the early stages of the crop, but later rainfall caused damage.
★ IGrain India believes that prices may see some further correction in the near term. As weather conditions clear, mustard arrivals in mandis are likely to increase, which may put additional pressure on prices. Buying at lower levels could offer profit in the coming period.
