Thiruvananthapuram. The activity of the southwest monsoon is still continuing in some other states of the country including Delhi-NCR, due to which it seems that its return journey from the country will not be possible during the current month.

Anyway, its time has passed. The Meteorological Department had fixed 17 September as the revised date for the departure of the monsoon.

Usually, October to December is considered the time of the northeast monsoon in the country, but if there is a delay in the return of the southwest monsoon, then the northeast monsoon may also arrive late.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of regular heavy rainfall in Delhi-NCR during the last week of September and the first week of October. This means that the monsoon will continue till the first week of October.

Delhi has already received more rain than the annual normal average, while this trend will continue in the future as well.

Along with Delhi, there is also a possibility of heavy rainfall in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Uttarakhand, due to which there may be a delay in the harvesting and preparation of Kharif crops. Monsoon first departs from Rajasthan but this time it is getting delayed from there.

This time its return process may start from there in the last week of September or the first week of October. Heavy rains in October will cause difficulty in early sowing of Rabi crops.
