Possibility of rise in the coming days
New Delhi. Currently, the prices of Isabgol are being quoted at their lowest level. There is no possibility of recession in the current prices. There is a possibility of rise in prices in the coming days if buying support is received. Because the arrival in the markets has remained limited. Currently, the prices of Isabgol are running 20/25 rupees per kg lower than last year.
Currently, the prices of Isabgol are being quoted at Rs 95/115 per kg in Naukha, Nagaur, Merta Mandi of Rajasthan, the major producer state of Isabgol, while the price in Gujarat Unjha Mandi is running at Rs 100/118 per kg. Last year, during the same time period, the prices of Isabgol were being quoted at Rs 130/140 per kg at the producing centers. It is worth mentioning that in July 2023, the record price of Isabgol was made of Rs 260/270.
Arrival
At present, the daily arrival of Isabgol in the main Mandi Unjha has remained 2000/2500 bags, whereas in Merta, Nagaur, Naukha Mandi of Rajasthan, the arrival is going on at 600/800 bags. During the season, the arrival in Unjha Mandi was 23/25 thousand bags and in Merta, Nagaur Mandi, the arrival was 10/12 thousand bags.
Production
During the current season, the production of Isabgol in the country was low. The new crop of Isabgol starts in the month of March-April. According to the information received, during the current season, the production of Isabgol in the country was estimated to be 28/30 lakh bags (each bag 70/75 kg), whereas in the year 2024, the production was considered to be 38/40 lakh bags. Although the production of the current season was low, but due to the high outstanding stock, the total availability was good, due to which the prices could not increase. At the time of arrival of the new crop, the stock of Isabgol at the production centers was believed to be 7/8 lakh bags.
Slowdown-Rise
Knowledgeable sources say that there is no possibility of recession in the current prices of Isabgol. Because the prices have come down to the minimum level. Apart from this, the arrival in the markets has also remained limited. Sources believe that the prices of Isabgol are likely to rise by 8/10 rupees per kg in the month of September-October. And in the coming days, trade estimates are being made that the price will increase to Rs 100/125 per kg.
Export
During the first three months of the current financial year 2025-26, April-June-2025, the export of Isabgol husk was 16441.53 tonnes, whereas during April-June-2024 the export was 16025.24 tonnes. However, exports were less in June 2025 as compared to June 2024. According to the information received, the export in June-2024 was 5845.94 tonnes while in June-2025 the export was 5213 tonnes.
