U.S. spring wheat futures gained strength as NOAA's 7-day forecast indicated little to no rainfall across Minnesota, the Dakotas, and the Pacific Northwest (PNW) during the coming week.

According to NASS Crop Progress data, 74% of the U.S. winter wheat crop had been harvested by Sunday, 3 percentage points ahead of the normal pace. Meanwhile, 86% of the spring wheat crop had headed, 1 percentage point ahead of the five-year average. Spring wheat crop ratings declined by 5 percentage points to 53% good to excellent, while the Brugler500 index fell 6 points to 345. With the exception of Washington (+16), crop conditions weakened across all major producing states, including Idaho (-13), Montana (-15), North Dakota (-9), South Dakota (-9), and Minnesota (-1).

Russian agricultural consultancy SovEcon lowered its estimate for Russia's wheat production to 88.3 million metric tons (MMT), down by 0.6 MMT from its previous forecast due to reduced planted acreage.
