International Cotton Markets
The ICE cotton futures market showed mixed movements on Thursday, with contracts ranging from 9 pips up to 8 pips down. External market factors were also varied, with the US Dollar Index down by 143 pips and crude oil falling by $0.46 per barrel.
On December 24, Seam reported the sale of 441 bales online at an average price of 58.80 cents per pound. ICE cotton stocks remained unchanged, holding at 20,113 bales of certified stock.
The Cotlook A Index increased by 130 pips to 79.60 cents per pound on December 24. Meanwhile, the USDA Adjusted World Price (AWP) dropped by 54 pips this week to 54.55 cents per pound, with this price valid until the following Thursday.
