According to the weekly Crop Progress report, 59% of the U.S. corn crop had reached the silking stage as of July 19, which is 5 percentage points ahead of the five-year average. Around 13% of the crop had entered the dough stage. The share of the U.S. corn crop rated in good to excellent condition declined by 1 percentage point to 67%, while the Brugler500 index slipped 1 point to 372. Crop conditions weakened in North Dakota (-18), South Dakota (-14), Colorado (-23), Wisconsin (-8), Kansas (-7), Missouri (-7), and Minnesota (-5). Meanwhile, conditions improved in Illinois (+3), Indiana (+5), Iowa (+5), Nebraska (+4), and Ohio (+1).

According to NOAA's 7-day precipitation forecast, parts of Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, and Ohio are expected to receive 1 to 2 inches of rainfall during the coming week. However, the Dakotas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana are likely to receive less than 0.5 inches of rain, keeping weather conditions relatively dry.

Late Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a 50% tariff on certain Canadian imports, citing trade discrimination. However, energy products and potash have been exempted from the new tariffs.
