New Delhi. Union Agriculture Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has asked the officials to ensure that all the agriculture related schemes of the Central Government are implemented properly and their meaningful impact is visible on the ground.
While discussing the 100-day action plan (agenda) with the officials of the Agriculture Ministry, the Agriculture Minister has said that there should be comprehensive arrangements and efforts at all levels to ensure that the beneficiaries get the full benefit of the schemes. A day before this,
Chauhan had instructed the officials of his ministry to work in accordance with the promise made in the BJP's manifesto. While giving instructions to revamp all the schemes and programs,
he has said that the expected results have not yet come out from the schemes, it is better to close them instead of continuing them.
There is no benefit in maintaining useless schemes for a long time. Instead, such meaningful schemes should be made which can benefit the agriculture sector and farmers.
According to the Agriculture Minister, every possible and concrete step should be taken to strengthen the Indian agriculture sector so that the pain and suffering of the farmers can be reduced and their difficulties and problems can be resolved.
Emphasizing the need to ensure adequate availability of good quality seeds, fertilizers and other agricultural resources (inputs), he said that these should be made available to the farmers on priority basis.
The Agriculture Minister also said that in order to continue the schemes for a long time, it is necessary to make practical and useful changes in their form from time to time.
There is a need to increase the production rate and yield of agricultural products in the country so that while meeting the domestic demand and need, the export of good quality products to other countries can be increased. This will help in increasing the country's income.
