Bhopal. Although the central government has approved the proposal to buy soybean from farmers in Madhya Pradesh at the minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 4892 per quintal and the state agriculture department has also issued a notification to this effect,

a section of farmers is not satisfied with this and is requesting to buy it at the rate of Rs 6000 per quintal. In fact, due to the soft market price of soybean for the last few months,

farmers have suffered a lot and want the government to buy it at a higher price so that it can help them reduce their losses.

In some markets of Madhya Pradesh, the price of soybean has come down to Rs 3500-4000 per quintal, which is far behind the support price and the lowest price in the last decade.

The arrival of new soybean crop in the state is going to start soon and at such a time it is natural for the producers to be worried due to the soft market price. Madhya Pradesh is the most prominent producer state of soybean.

There, along with good sowing, the condition of the crop is also being said to be satisfactory. The industry-business sector believes that if there is no outbreak of heavy rains and waterlogging in the fields, then this time there can be a great production of soybean in the state.

The price of soybean in Ratlam market has come down to Rs 3500-3700 per quintal. Earlier, farmers had stocked up in the hope of a rise in prices, but now as it is the season of arrival of new crops, they are forced to unload the stock in the market.
