Demand of Rajasthan farmers regarding chana
★ Due to chana prices trading below MSP, farmers in Rajasthan are facing distress. Farmers have urged the government to ensure 100% procurement at MSP or introduce a price deficiency payment (Bhavantar-type) scheme so that they can receive MSP support.
★ Around 5,000 farmers have registered on the procurement portal.
★ Farmers say that procurement has not yet started at purchase centres in major producing districts. Additionally, due to the 40 quintal limit, they are unable to sell their entire produce.
