Decline in Edible Oil Imports Expected in December 2024
India's edible oil imports in December 2024 are expected to drop by 25%, reaching 11.9 lakh tons, the lowest in the past three months.
Palm oil imports are projected to fall by 40% to 5,03,000 metric tons, the lowest level since March 2023.
Soy oil imports are anticipated to rise by 3% to 4,20,000 metric tons, the highest in four months.
Sunflower oil imports are expected to decline by 22% to 2,65,000 metric tons.
Due to palm oil prices being $100 per ton higher than soy oil, importers are shifting their preference toward soy oil and sunflower oil.
