According to the EIA, U.S. ethanol production averaged 1.093 million barrels per day (bpd) during the week ending July 3, down 24,000 bpd from the previous week.
Ethanol stocks declined by 762,000 barrels to 23.928 million barrels.
Ethanol exports increased by 74,000 bpd to 200,000 bpd, while refinery ethanol inputs fell by 20,000 bpd to 901,000 bpd.
USDA’s Export Sales report, due on Thursday morning, is expected to show old-crop corn export sales between 600,000 and 1.1 million metric tons (MMT), while new-crop sales are projected at 600,000 to 900,000 metric tons (MT) for the week ending July 2.
According to NOAA’s 7-day precipitation forecast, 1 to 2 inches of rainfall is expected across much of Missouri, Indiana, Ohio, and southern Illinois, mainly south of Interstate 80. Parts of eastern Nebraska, western Iowa, and central Wisconsin are forecast to receive around 1 inch of rain.
Analysts expect Friday’s WASDE report to show old-crop U.S. corn ending stocks reduced by 66 million bushels to 2.079 billion bushels, while new-crop ending stocks are projected to decline by 61 million bushels to 1.899 billion bushels.
