New Delhi. However, despite weak domestic production during the 2023-24 season, there was no significant jump in the prices of coriander, due to which stockists are worried about losses.

But it is also true that the producers are getting almost fair price for their goods. With normal arrivals in the markets of the three major producing states - Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat, the price of coriander has remained almost stable in a certain range.

Last year, the farmers of Gujarat showed tremendous enthusiasm in the cultivation of cumin as its price jumped to an all-time high.

But during the current year, the price of cumin has been hovering around the normal level, so it seems that the producers of Gujarat will not show much eagerness in the cultivation of cumin this time. Last year, due to cumin,

the area of coriander had decreased considerably there, but there are chances of some improvement in it during the current year.

According to trade analysts, usually the sowing of coriander starts after Dussehra in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Dussehra is on 12 October this year.

This means that its sowing process can start from mid-October. In view of this, big producers have started unloading their coriander stock in the markets in good quantities.

The proof of this is that the average daily arrival of coriander in Ramganj Mandi of Rajasthan has increased from 2500-3000 bags to 4500-5000 bags and in Baran Mandi it has improved from 1000 bags to 1200-1500 bags.

Of course, the demand in the markets is not commensurate with this and hence there is some pressure on the prices, but the arrival of Disawari traders, stockists and exporters is expected to come out at lower prices.

This will increase the prices a little, which will encourage farmers to maintain the area at normal level during the sowing season.
