Russia extends export duties on sunflower oil and seeds till 2028 Russia has announced an extension of export duties on sunflower seeds, oil, and meal until August 2028. Earlier, these duties were applicable until August 31, 2026, or the end of the current export season. The export duty on sunflower seeds will remain at 50%, but not less than 32,000 roubles per tonne. A “floating” (variable) duty rate will continue to apply for sunflower oil and meal. Russia exported 5.1 million tonnes of sunflower oil in the 2024/25 season. Exports in the new season are expected to reach 5.2–5.3 million tonnes. Sunflower meal exports were 2.6 million tonnes in the 2024/25 season and may exceed 3.1 million tonnes in the current season. In the future, sunflower oil prices are likely to remain high due to lower production in Ukraine, Argentina, and Brazil, as well as reduced pipeline stocks
