Punjab: Free Dal, Tea, Sugar, Mustard Oil, and Turmeric for Beneficiaries of the Atta-Dal Scheme

The Punjab government plans to provide free dal, tea leaves, sugar, mustard oil, and turmeric to beneficiaries under the Atta-Dal scheme starting from April next year. Each family will receive 2 kg of dal, 2 kg of sugar, 1 kg of tea leaves, 1 litre of mustard oil, and 200 grams of turmeric. The state has 4 million beneficiaries under the Atta-Dal scheme. The annual cost of this free distribution is estimated at around Rs 1,000 crore. Under the scheme, each member already receives 5 kg of wheat.
