Export sales data for the week ending February 26 will be released on Thursday morning. Traders expect net wheat sales to total between 200,000 and 500,000 metric tons during that week. New crop business is estimated in the range of 0 to 100,000 metric tons.
Statistics Canada will also release planting intentions data on Thursday morning. According to a Reuters survey, total wheat acreage is expected to be around 26.4 million acres, down from 26.9 million acres last year. Spring wheat acreage is estimated at about 18.8 million acres, which would be similar to 2025 if realized.
